Growing and Changing

We’ve entered March – how did we get here so quickly? Our American Indian Dog is growing super quick – this breed is known to mature much MUCH quicker than other breeds. At first I thought that it was a bit of an over-exaggeration, however, at 5.5 months she is practically full size. I can’t imagine she will get too much bigger than what she is now.

That said, I cannot tell you how many people talk to me about my “high energy dog”. God forbid we would have gotten the pup with more energy. As is she has been a challenge (but a good one) and it may have killed us in the end. 😉 We spend at least an hour a day at the dog park and it does wear her out.

She has reached the “I know commands but I’m choosing not to listen to you” stage of her life and I’ve never trained such a stubborn dog! Our trainer has given us extra tips but even they comment on how smart she is for such a young pup. At 5 months she has already dominated a Level 3 doggie IQ game. What is in store for us?!

Which leads us to our next big change – we’re looking at buying a house this summer! Not only does she need a backyard but we need a space to call our own and to stake a claim in Austin before it is out of reach financially. For the first time in my life, I want roots. This is where I belong. And my pup has been the icing on the cake.

I MUST PLAY. #crazyeyes #americanindiandog #dogstagram #dogsofinsta #puppy #zoomies
